Led Tv cheap
I researched LED TVs for weeks before deciding upon this model last July. It is absolutely fabulous. Thanks for all of the past reviews which helped me to decide on this one.
The picture is flawless. Others have complained about the lack of synchronization. That's because your listening through something other than the TV speakers. Use the TV speakers and there's no problem.
DH attached a cable so that we can watch media from an SD card (or other direct input) and be able to use the wireless headphones!
We've had other family members complain that the picture is TOO GOOD!
This is only my second Amazon review, but I feel so strongly that I had to pass the word about this wonderful TV.
I have had this t.v for a couple of months now and I am still thrilled with it. I read every single review on amazon twice before I put down this hunk of money. I was absolutely prepared to take this back if it didn't hold up to my expectations. Here is what I found with my t.v.
Corner light- Yeah Its there. It is very subtle however. My husband didn't see it until I got up and walked to the t.v and pointed it out and no one else has noticed it either. I only saw it because I was really trying to look for it and all the light were out. I wanted to make sure this didn't become annoying later so I put in my copy of Lord Of The Rings widescreen edition and I am telling you it's very very faint.
Ghosting- I have seen this once. During the same movie, in the beginning, the screen goes completely black for about 20 seconds. In the middle of the t.v the black seems not so black. Not white or cloud-like, just not as dark. I tried different lighting and nothing seemed to effect it. I put in several other "dark" movies and I never saw this again.
Shudder/jerkiness- I haven't seen this with my set.
Sound- Okay sound blows! I knew it would though and plan on getting surround sound in the near future. The thing is you have to keep adjusting the sound but it's not the end of the world.
3D- It is pretty cool. We watched the new Star Trek movie in 3D and it gave the movie a nice depth. Nature shows look awesome in the 3D.
Overall- I love this t.v. The picture is fantastic. So clear it takes some getting use to. The 3D is cool even if it doesn't take off. I bought this as a bundle with the 3D kit and the 3D Blu-ray player for 2700.
This is our first LCD TV. I was not playing a lot with it, but after hooking it up to our MacBook Pro 17" (via mini-display to HDMI adapter and HMDI cable) I was blown away with the quality of picture. Then we've watched the movie played from MacBook to this TV and the picture was very good, sharp and clear and rich in colors. What I also found out is that the view angle is pretty good. While my family was sitting on the sofa in front of TV, I was watching from the side and didn't find any differences in color.
There are a lot of different picture settings, so you can adjust all of them to your personal preferences. If you make them wrong, you can easily reset them to manufacture settings.
Also, I've tried to play games from MacBook on this large screen and wasted in the game for about 5 hours, because the picture quality was very good and screen refresh rate is not visible at all.
With that said, I just want to conclude that I am satisfied with our new LCD LED TV.

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

When viewing "side-by side" the Sharp versus other sets in an electronics store, the Aquos actually stood-out from the crowd for video quality. The high-end plasmas were very close, but there was something about the Sharp that set it apart. At home, while viewing satellite HD, old movies, even black & white, seemed like they were live broadcasts. This isn't just my impression, but those of most of my friends that viewed it as well. This set replaces a 4 year old Samsung DLP that should have lasted a lot longer than it did. Audio quality is mediocre, but what can you expect of speakers in a cabinet as narrow as this? A home theater sound system with this TV is a must. I also viewed the 240 Hz version of this set, but couldn't detect enough difference to warrant the extra expense. Bottom line is that this set gives superb video quality for a very reasonable price.
My wife and I purchased this TV from Amazon and it arrived today.
Scott Conway already covered most of the details in his excellent review, but there are a couple things I feel I should add.
1) Contrary to Scott's account, ours did not come with the "surround sound" enabled by default. The sound from the internal speakers is downright horrible. enabling "surround sound" makes it worse. Interestingly, while I was underneath the unit (plugging in my external speakers) I noticed that the sound was actually better. I believe their attempt to hide the speakers by aiming them down was a mistake. Maybe it sounds better if used with the stand on a table or something, where a flat surface can reflect the sound, but when mounted on the wall, the sound is thin and tinny and no amount of adjusting of bass/treble will make it sound good. Luckily, I read the reviews here and elsewhere and knew the sound was a major setback for this TV and I had my external speakers ready to go. The surround sound option works pretty well with the external speakers, providing some good simulated separation, but I would probably only use that for movies and such, not for regular viewing.
2) Its slim form factor comes at a price, that being a laptop-style power brick with a 3-prong power plug. This really blew my wiring setup I had for the set I replaced. I'm going to have to do some major rework in order to get cables hidden from view again.
Ok, that said, I will confirm that the screen is clear, bright and provides a stunning picture. Set up was easy and the remote is uncluttered and even has braille markings for power, channel and volume buttons. Unfortunately, it's a one-trick pony and is not a multi-function remote, so I'll probably be using my cable remote for the most part, once I get it programmed for the tv.
As mentioned, I have cable so the TV itself won't venture from channel 3 so I don't know how responsive it is to changing channels. I was happy that I was able to quit the auto-scan after it found channel 3, instead of having to wait for it to slowly make its way through a complete scan.
All in all, this seems to be a pretty solid tv for the money. 5 stars if it had better sound and had a use for the USB port other than firmware updates.
The LG 42LE5400 is my first flat-screen television, and I've only had it for a couple weeks now. So there are the caveats.
But to my eye, it's a beautiful machine -- with the power on or off. I'm the kind of person who wants the giant TV in my living room to look nice even when it's off; only Samsung sets can match this LG in the looks department. It's almost impossibly thin, and when powered off it's just a cool-looking black panel sitting on my entertainment center.
Turned on, it's amazing. I haven't noticed any blurring while watching sports or action, the colors are great, flesh tones look like flesh, and the blacks look more than adequate. I did have to fiddle with the settings some out of the box -- turned the backlighting way down, for example. But to me, the television's self-calibration system seems to work great.
The Internet apps are pretty good, if a little spare. The TV connects to Netflix, Vudu, YouTube and other Internet video using an Ethernet cable plugged into my wireless router. LG sells a separate wireless receiver that you can plug into the television to ditch the 10baseT. There are also a bunch of Yahoo! "widgets" that do things like tell you the weather and check stock prices. They seem relatively useless.
So: Five stars, for now. That could change depending on the television's durability; it's a new model, so it doesn't really have a track record.
