Sony Bravia Z Series KLV-40ZX1M 40-Inch 1080p LED Monitor

Sony Bravia Z Series KLV-40ZX1M 40-Inch 1080p LED Monitor Review

I have read the CNET review where it dogs on this tv for the edge-lit technology and says for 00.00, it should provide a more uniform viewing experience. But honestly, I think they were nitpicking based on the pricepoint. True, for 00.00 I'd want MAJOR bang for my buck! But what about for 00.00???
I write this review to you now on my own KLV-40ZX1M and I tell you 00.00 is what I spent this last weekend to buy this tv direct from the Sony store. My guess is that a price change is due on this tv and I would check back here for pricing below 00.00.
I'm telling you. . . At this pricepoint, there isn't another television out there that can touch it! This TV is amazing! Err, monitor. . . I forgot it only has one HDMI input, but Sony is now including DMX-SW1 HDMI switcher with purchase. Bravo Sony!!! Amazing product!!!

Sony Bravia Z Series KLV-40ZX1M 40-Inch 1080p LED Monitor Feature

  • 9.9 mm thin super-slim design
  • 16:9 Full HD 1080p Resolution Panel (1920x1080)
  • Wide Color Gamut LED edge lighting with 120Hz Motionflow technology
  • BRAVIA Engine fully digital video processor
  • Monitor only (no tuner) with 1 HDMI input

Sony Bravia Z Series KLV-40ZX1M 40-Inch 1080p LED Monitor Overview

Sony's thinnest 40" diagonal monitor includes the performance and Full HD 1080p resolution of BRAVIA Z-Series HDTVs, the revolutionary Sony BRAVIA KLV-40ZX1M LCD Flat Panel Monitor lets you see the world from a whole new angle. At 9.9 mm thin and approximately 26 pounds, the KLV-40ZX1M is flatter than any other large-screen monitor available, approaching the thinness of the 11" (diagonal) Sony XEL-1 Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) TV. Sony offers beautiful design inside and out by incorporating a Wide Color Gamut LED edge light instead of conventional fluorescent lamps, which allows the KLV-40ZX1M to produce rich, more realistic images on a screen as slim as a picture frame. The KLV-40ZX1M not only displays more subtle shades of red, green, and blue but also features Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) technology for deeper blacks and better image detail when viewing dark movie scenes. It includes enhanced image processing features such as BRAVIA Engine -- which reduces visual noise and sharpens image detail -- and Motionflow 120Hz, a technology that contributes to sharper, more fluid motion by generating extra frames. Additionally, 10-bit processing and a 10-bit panel, Live Color Creation, and x.v.Color capabilities1 create vibrant, more accurate color reproduction. The KLV-40ZX1M also includes an HDMI input that, when used with the BRAVIA Wireless Link module (sold separately), allows you to connect a DVD player, AV gear, or other HDMI components for wireless, real-time transmission of these super-sharp images. A new wall-hugging mount and matching speaker bar (both sold separately) further enhance the fully integrated, on-the-wall design of the KLV-40ZX1M.

Sony Bravia EX700 Series 52-Inch LED HDTV, Black

Sony Bravia EX700 Series 52-Inch LED HDTV, Black Review

I have had this TV for about 2 weeks and am still stunned by its beautiful picture. The colors are rich and deep and in HD everything is so crisp. This TV is in my Family Room Set-up which includes Pioneer Elite SC-25 receiver, LG Blu-Ray, Boston Accoustics center and surround speakers.

Pros:
1. Picture (as mentioned above). Although it is close, the picture is better than my 46" Samsung LED-LCD that I have in the bedroom. Colors are warmer and image is just as crisp if not more so even though the screen is bigger. Images from the Blu-Ray are truly stunning

2. Network connectivity. A wireless dongle was included with my set. However, I have hardwired to my LAN so I can't comment on the wireless capabilities. Hooking up to the network was seemless and streaming from a computer on my network was effortless with no hiccups. I haven't streamed HD video yet, so I can't comment.

3. Cabinet. The screen is surrounded by a beautiful high gloss black cabinet. Probably will be a fingerprint and dust magnet. But the design is great.

4. Low energy consumption that all LED's enjoy

Cons:
1. Base. I really didn't care for the base. So much so that I mounted instead my media center so I wouldn't have to use it.

2. Slow to reflect channel changes when the next channel had a different resolution. Was able to fix to setting cable box to 1080i output only. Channel delay down to less than half a second vs. 2-3 seconds when changing from a 720p channel to a 1080i channel.

3. SD picture nothing to write home about.

I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this set.

Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46XBR8 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz Triluminos LED LCD HDTV

Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46XBR8 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz Triluminos LED LCD HDTV Review

I bought this tv about 3 weeks ago from OneCall, which was an excellent seller and the delivery was fast, easy, and reliable. They definitely put the customer in customer service.
All i can say about this TV is WOW!!! Me and my wife are still in awe of the picture quality and sometimes watch a show or movie in HD just because the picture looks phenomenal. I was originally looking to buy the xbr9 vs samsung led because of the affordable price. Suprisingly my wife supported me to spend the extra 600 bucks since we plan on keeping the tv for many years to come. I felt guilty about spending 2 grand on a television until i set it up within minutes of receiving it and saw the picture. It's as if I'm watching the action outside my window. The color richness, especially the black level is awesome. I actually bought this TV blind as none of my local electronic stores had it in stock. They only had the Samsung LED, but after having a 26"samsung hdtv for the past 5 years i knew that a reflective screen on a 46" screen was going to drive me nuts. I based my purchase on the reviews on cnet and amazon.com. You will not regret this purchase. The picture quality compared to the samsung led is much more crisp, clean and vibrant. The bright lighting in my room no longer bothers me, thanks to the matte screen.
Many reviewers have slammed the quality of the speakers, but since i haven't owned a surround system and all my friends and family listen through the tv speakers, my ears are geared towards the stand alone tv speakers. The quality is the best by far compared to different models of Sharp and Sumsung lcd. I'm more than content with these speakers and will not need the bose 2.1 speaker system i was looking at, although it would be an upgrade, but definitely not a necessity like other televisions. Even standard television looks great on this set. I think i've fallen in love all over again. Spend the extra money because the technology with this picture quality is still more advanced than almost all the led sets out there and will satisfy you for years to come.

Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46XBR8 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz Triluminos LED LCD HDTV Overview

The Sony BRAVIA XBR8-Series HDTVs represent the next step forward for Sony HDTV technology. Underpinning this advance is the TRILUMINOS RGB Dynamic LED backlight, which utilizes clusters of red, green, and blue LEDs to produce accurate colors and an amazingly realistic image, and employs local dimming to dynamically adjust the brightness of LED clusters, allowing the XBR8 to display deep blacks alongside bright whites for enhanced image depth and exceptional shadow detail. Motionflow 120Hz PRO technology creates new frames to double the frame rate, then uses sequential scanning to enhance motion and deliver a smoother and clearer picture, and 24p True Cinema lets you experience a cinema-like experience. BRAVIA XBR8-Series HDTVs also feature the powerful BRAVIA Engine 2 PRO fully digital video processor, which creates sharp, crystal-clear images at any resolution, as well as advanced color reproduction technologies including 10-bit processing and a 10-bit panel, Live Color Creation, and x.v.Color capability. DMex functionality lets you expand the capabilities of the BRAVIA XBR8-Series with optional BRAVIA Link modules, including the BRAVIA Internet Video Link, BRAVIA Wireless Link, BRAVIA DVD Link, and BRAVIA Input Link (all sold separately). In addition, the exclusive Xross Media Bar (XMB) user interface, integrated TV Guide Interactive Program Guide, and BRAVIA Sync one-touch component control make the BRAVIA XBR8-Series HDTVs easy to use, and the large number of inputs offer you a wide range of connectivity options. BRAVIA XBR8-Series HDTVs also feature an RS-232C connection for integration into home automation systems. You can even customize the timeless design of the BRAVIA XBR8-Series by adding optional speaker grilles available in a selection of designer colors (sold separately)
